Learn Area Launch
When I first started Lucinda Makes I knew I eventually wanted to offer online courses and tutorials and now it's happening!
I've always loved teaching people new things and sharing my skills, so making tutorials and online courses is something I knew I'd really enjoy. When I was first planning what Lucinda Makes would be I knew I wanted it to not just be a blog, but also be a place where people could come to learn new things, so you may have noticed a new 'Learn' link in the navigation recently.
There's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes as the Learn area has been developed. The Learn area is split into Skills and Courses. Skills are individual tutorials based on specific skills. For example if you're knitting something and need to learn a specific stitch, the Skills section is where you'll find it. Each skill has a video tutorial (with subtitles available) and written instructions. Courses are much more in depth than skills and cover full projects, so you can follow along as I break down complex projects into simple steps and help you to make something you're proud of. Each step is similar to my individual tutorials and includes a video tutorial, written instructions and any downloadable resources you may need. My courses are as detailed as possible so you can confidently complete a project.
To begin with my courses and tutorials are largely going to be focused on knitting, but I do have plans to include other crafts I'm experienced in too, which I'll be revealing more details about in future.
At the moment my first few tutorials are already available in the Learn area, with more coming soon. I'm also working on my first course, so make sure you keep an eye out for that too!
