A Small Yarn Purchase from Down Sheepy Lane
Down Sheepy Lane recently released Witcher inspired yarn and I couldn't resist purchasing some.
I really didn't need any more yarn, my stash already contains enough for several projects and I wasn't planning to purchase more until I was running low, but then I saw some photos of Down Sheepy Lane's new Witcher collection on Instagram. I've been a fan of the Witcher games for a number of years and recently enjoyed watching the new Netflix series, which has made me want to play the games again. Both the games and the series are based on books by Andrzej Sapkowski, that I've been intending to read for a long time and I think after watching the Netflix series it might've finally motivated me to get round to reading them.
Down Sheepy Lane's Witcher collection included four colours, 'Geralt of Rivia', 'The White Wolf', 'Ciri' and 'Yennefer'. I chose to purchase a hank of 4-ply yarn in the colour 'Yennefer', it's 75% Merino, 25% Nylon and 425m. It's a natural base with mainly grey tones, plus pink and teal speckles. This was definitely my favourite of the four colours, as I really like the pink and teal speckles. However, if I'm being totally honest I did almost purchase a hank of 'The White Wolf' too, but I did manage to exercise self-control and limit myself to just one.
As this was a bit of an impulse buy I haven't actually planned a project for this yarn yet. I know I would like to use it on it's own for something to really show off the colours and so far I'm leaning towards using it for a cowl, but I haven't picked a pattern yet. If you have any suggestions feel free to send them my way. When I do finally start a project using this yarn I'll definitely be posting about it here on my blog, you can subscribe via the link below to stay updated.
