Virtual Yorkshire Yarn Fest 2020 Haul
Yorkshire Yarn Fest was postponed due to COVID-19, so an online event took place instead and I made a couple of purchases.
I wasn't planning to attend Yorkshire Yarn Fest as I do still have plenty of yarn left that I purchased last year, however as it was changed to an online event I decided to check it out. Many shops were offering discount codes or free shipping and there's some yarn I'd been thinking of purchasing for future projects anyway, so it seemed like a good opportunity to do so.
My first purchase was from The Corner of Craft (Chromatic Yarns), I'd had my eye on the colourway Birthday Cake Golem for a while, after seeing it in one of Hannah's podcast episodes. I decided to get a skein in the sturdy sock base, which is 75% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester and 25% nylon, as I'm going to be using this yarn for socks.
My second purchase was from Spectrum Fibre, I'd wanted to use Potion for a project for some time. Last year I'd nearly signed up for Spectrum Fibre's Neon Club for my birthday month, but decided against it as I knew I was already going to be getting some yarn for my birthday. However, when I later saw what the July colourway had been I really regretted not getting it. Potion has since become available to purchase outside of the monthly Neon Club, so I knew I had to purchase a skein or two at some point. More recently I decided I would like to knit a Ripple Crop Top and I realised it would be the perfect project to use Potion for. I should only need two skeins, but I bought 3 as I'd rather have too much than risk running out.
I don't think I'll be buying any more yarn for a while now, as I definitely have more than enough! I'm going to be trying to get through my list of planned projects and reducing my stash before I make any more purchases.
