Form Cowl
A textured cosy cowl, inspired by the layered appearance of clusters of mushrooms growing on trees. The Form Cowl is knitted in the round and features an easy to follow stitch pattern.
Finished Measurements
Circumference: 22.4” / 57cm
Height: 6.5” / 16.5cm
Instructions are included in the pattern for modifying the height of the cowl.
Yarn
DK weight yarn (126.5 grams / 277.2 yards / 253 metres)
Suggested Yarn
2 skeins of Spectrum Fibre DK, colour ‘Parma Violet’ (100% SW Merino) - 115 grams / 252 yards / 230 metres per skein.
I knitted the sample using only one skein, but did need to use the entire 115 gram skein. The recommended yarn quantities above include some contingency (to ensure you won’t run out of yarn), however if you have the correct gauge or a slightly tighter gauge you may be able to use just one skein.
Needles
4mm - 24 inch / 60cm circular (use the needle size needed to achieve gauge).
Notions
- Tapestry needle (for the Long Tail bind off)
- Row counter
- 1 stitch marker (for beginning of round)
Gauge
22 sts & 32 rows in a 4 x 4 inch square worked in the round in stockinette stitch, blocked.
